The LSSA 6.0L is an LS1 based spec engine intended to compete with performance comparable to limited 360 sprintcar engines. The LSSA 6.0L configuration has a target power of 580 - 625 HP, and component cost of less than $13,000.

Block lightening of any kind is not allowed. All mounts must remain. This includes fuel pump, motor mounts, and all other stock mounts.
Oversized and roller cam bearings are not allowed.
2. Crankshaft
Stroke length must be 3.622” +/-0.005”.
No lightening, counterweight knife edging, or counterweight polishing is allowed. Balancing is allowed.
3. Connecting Rods
Connecting rod length must be 6.098-6.125.
Connecting rods and bolts must be magnetic steel.
4. Pistons/Rings
Any forged or cast aluminum piston is allowed.
Engines must not exceed 12.3:1 compression ratio with the heads and gasket installed.
5. Valvetrain
Only hydraulic lifters with .700" OEM diameter roller wheel and .842 diameter are allowed.
Push rods must be a stock, or stock type replacement, with a 5/16” diameter.
Roller tip rockers are not allowed.
Rockers must be 1.7:1 ratio.
Maximum lift at the valve is .600”.
6. Cylinder Heads
Only the following unmodified cylinder heads per manufacture’s specification are allowed.

Angle milling, material removal or addition in any area of head is not allowed.
No porting, grinding or polishing of any kind is allowed.
The seats and guides may be replaced.
Valve springs must be magnetic steel.
7. Intake: Naturally aspirated induction only. Turbo charging or super charging is not allowed.

No modifications are allowed.
No porting, polishing, or grinding of any kind is allowed.
8. Fuel Delivery System
4 Barrel Carburetor. Maximum 1.380 inch venturi diameter measurement at any location (750 cfm).
9. Fuel
Racing methanol only. Gasoline is not allowed.
Nitro, nitrous oxide, or any other oxidizer, with the exception of methanol, is not allowed.
No fuel additives, other than upper cylinder lubricants, are allowed. Fuel is subject to inspection at any time.
10. Oiling System
Wet sump oil pan reservoir system is required.
OEM type pump, mechanically driven from crankshaft snout, is required.
11. Ignition
Electronic Spark-only control of OE style coils on plug.
An MSD #6010, MSD #6014, MSD #6014CT or MSD #60143 ignition controller is required.
Only OE or physically compatible OE replacement coil packs are allowed.
Only nominal 12V lithium-ion, Iron-phosphate, or NMC batteries are allowed. The battery must be securely hard mounted and shielded in the same area designated for ballast mounting. Bus voltage must read less than 14.8 V at any time.
On board starters are not allowed.
No electronic traction control devices are allowed.
The ignition firing order must remain stock.
12. Exhaust:
Headers with maximum 1-3/4 tube diameter per cylinder, up to collector are required.
Schoenfeld 14272735‑78 Muffler is the only muffler allowed.
Tri Y headers are not allowed.
13. Water Pump & Radiator
Any mechanically driven water pump is allowed.
Electric water pumps are not allowed.
14. Fuel Pump
A mechanical, belt driven, or cam driven fuel pump is allowed.
Electric fuel pumps are not allowed.
15. Exotic Materials
No Titanium, Inconel, Ceramics, DLC, or Nikasil components are allowed.
